After coloring in stencils and stamps, the first cutting machines for foils came, a sensation. Then digital printing and so advertising for different areas becomes more and more colorful, faster and easier to implement.

Of course, you still need some background knowledge of how different surfaces react to one another. Well, the slides also have a life of their own.

Foil graphics, lettering

Self-adhesive foils are available for a wide variety of purposes. For vehicles, textiles, windows, stencils etc. Graphics are processed in such a way that they can be read and cut by the cutting machine, the plotter. There is a special technique for graphics with color gradients and photos, it combines printing and contour cutting, which of course has to be created beforehand so that the cutting machine can find its line after printing.

Then the superfluous film is removed, so that only the font or graphics remain. The smaller the graphic, the more laborious this work is. Because the inner workings of each letter have to be plucked by hand. Then a transfer tape is placed on the graphic so that everything stays where it should in the end.

After “weeding” the film is applied to the intended medium. This means that a separate process is used depending on the film and medium. Either glued wet or dry or hot-pressed on textiles. Transfer ribbon down, done.
